The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has released notification for 630 critical positions across Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), and Yantrik (Technical) cadres. The recruitment is for various roles including Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), and Yantrik across Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics trades. Aspiring candidates can submit their applications online from June 11, 2025 (11:00 hrs) to June 25, 2025 (23:30 hrs).

Eligibility Criteria

Age Requirements (as of June 25, 2025)

• Navik (GD) & Navik (DB): Born between August 1, 2004 – August 1, 2008 (18-22 years)
• Yantrik: Born between March 1, 2004 – March 1, 2008 (18-22 years)

Educational Qualifications

• Navik (General Duty): Class 12th passed with Mathematics and Physics from a COBSE-recognized board
• Navik (Domestic Branch): Class 10th passed from a COBSE-recognized board
• Yantrik (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics):
  • Option 1: Class 10th + 3/4-year diploma in relevant engineering field (AICTE-approved)
  • Option 2: Class 10th & 12th + 2/3-year diploma in relevant engineering (AICTE-approved)

Physical and Medical Standards

• Height: Minimum 157 cm
• Chest: Minimum 5 cm expansion
• Vision: 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye) – corrective lenses not permitted
• Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
  • 1.6 km run in ≤ 7 minutes
  • 20 squat-ups (Uthak Baithak)
  • 10 push-ups
  • All exercises must be completed consecutively without rest
• Tattoos: Permanent body tattoos disqualify candidates

Selection Process

The selection process for Navik and Yantrik are as follows:

• Computer Based Written Exam (CBT)
• Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Document Verification, and Initial Medical Examination
• Final Document Verification and Medical Examination at INS Chilka
• Verification of Original Documents (Post-Joining)

Application Process

The application process is entirely online. Follow these steps to successfully submit your form:

1. Go to the Indian Coast Guard recruitment portal: joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in.
2. Register yourself using a valid email ID and mobile number. You will receive login credentials.
3. Log in with your credentials and fill in all the required personal, educational, and communication details accurately.
4. Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-sized color photograph, signature, thumb impression, and all necessary documents as per the specifications mentioned in the official notification. This includes your Date of Birth Certificate, Photo ID, 10th and 12th mark sheets/certificates, and category certificates (if applicable).
5. Pay the application fee of ₹300/- (Rupees Three Hundred Only) through online mode (Net Banking, Visa/Master/Maestro/Rupay Credit/Debit Card, UPI). SC/ST candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
6. Carefully review all the entered details before final submission. Once submitted, take a printout of your application form for future reference.
